Knasende sprød, legende let og uimodståeligt god og flot Chablis 1. Cru fra Christian Moreau.
I Chablis er jordbunden det allervigtigste. Til denne vin kommer druerne fra 1.er cru-marken 'Vaillon', og man fornemmer tydeligt den enorme kvalitet. Det smager ganske enkelt fremragende. For Christian Moreau har nemlig på mesterlig vis løftet sprød mineralitet ud af jorden, og tæmmet den spidse syre med erfarent brug af behersket fadlagring. Resultatet er en Chablis-vin på top-niveau!
Vinstokkene er i gennemsnit 60 år gamle, og druerne herfra høstes ved håndkraft og vinificeres i temperaturstyrede ståltanke. Vinen lagres i 6 måneder i en kombination af ståltanke og primært brugte og let brugte egefade.
Resultatet er en intens, men stadig let og mineralsk Chablis med en frisk, sprød syre og noter af citrus, ananas, abrikos og kalk samt et let toastet præg. Sublimt!
Jasper Morris - Inside Burgundy - 89-91
Another fresh green colour. A very cool sample, so not much nose, but the palate shows clear typicity with a lemon rinse over the cool white stones. Good persistence here. A pretty example which will not need too much time.
Decanter - 93
Boasts lovely aromas of lemon peel and nectarine accented with a floral note and a hint of spice. The domaine is something of a specialist in this left-bank terroir, with 5ha spread across seven parcels. It is made from the oldest vines, which gave a more substantial wine in 2024 than the classic Vaillon. Production was tiny – one barrel and one wine globe. This will drink well on release but can easily improve for a decade or more in the cellar.
Allan Meadows - Burghound - 90-93
Smoky and even more floral-suffused aromas are comprised by notes of wet stone, spice, quinine and ocean breeze nuances. There is again fine volume and mid-palate concentration as well as a borderline aggressive minerality, all wrapped in a powerful, sappy, bone-dry and balanced finish that also exhibit fine length.
